Summary/Abstract: The first part of this article offers new insights into the relationships among church hymnals. The example of the Váradi hymnal (Váradi énekeskönyv (1566)) shows that books can be directly related to one another, without assuming intermediate manuscripts. The second part proposes the rumored Unitarian hymnal of bishop Enyedi György (George Enyedi) (1555–1597) as a source for Újfalvi Imre’s (Imre Újfalvi) (1565–1616?) 1602 hymnal.
