Summary/Abstract: Sustainable development has become part of our contemporary life. The concept has been incorporated in many UN declarations during the last years. But we use to forget the birth and the evolution of the sustainable management theory and practice.This paper aims to analyze the meanings of the sustainable management process and its limitations, making also a quick review of the evolution of this phenomenon.
