Summary/Abstract: This article is an attempt to present the basic elements related to the Platonic visionof the common good by reference to the essential ways of understanding the concept of the common good over the centuries. Also defnes the characteristics ofseparation theory, which was proposed by Plato. This difference was to shift thepoint of the importance from individual human to the general public (state). Inthis way, the concept of the common good accentuates concern for the publicwelfare as the cost of the freedom of the human person. For Plato, a person mustsubmit to the community, this is the only way to build a sustainable society
