Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to gain a deeper grasp of Houellebecq’s novelistic style, his posthumanist vision, and his reflections regarding the irreconcilability of family life with a society of cold-blooded egoism. The outcomes of the current research coincide with prior investigations on the forcefulness of Houellebecq’s prose, his predilection for satirizing discourses he appears to support, and his considerations concerning the ascendancy of market values in human activity and the resultant deprivation of affective nostalgia.
