Summary/Abstract: The right to property in Nigeria is the exclusive privilege of a Nigerian citizen to acquire or own by hereditary important goods, lands, minerals, houses, companies etc for survival but these rights under consideration are in the spirit of the legal and biblical laws as the main focused areas. Historical perspective of property ownership, types of property, lost of property, right to property in Nigeria under law and capitalism, the right to property under biblical laws and recommendations are the core areas addressed by this paper. This research made used of historical method and recommends that the poor should be protected in Nigeria especially by not making them property of the rich ones.
