Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to analyze the dynamics of major armed conflicts in 2016. The selection criteria for the armed conflicts include: the level of intensity and internalization of a conflict and the activity of the jihadist forces in it. Under these criteria, the authors focus on armed conflicts in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Afghanistan, Libya, and Somalia.
