Summary/Abstract: The article is an attempt to answer the question about the legitimacy of distinctions on the "center" and "periphery" on the Polish book market after 1989. The study of mechanisms of centralization and dispersion due to the rapid development of digital technologies focused on the publishing market and distribution of books. The author characterizes Polish publications in terms of the share of individual types of species and varieties in the market, as well as their popularity provided by the marketing whizzes, and expressed in purchasing and readership. She also analyzes the different ways of distribution and circulation of books, paying particular attention to the peripheral from the point of view of the entire market distribution channels.
