Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on the autopresentations of monks and presentations of monasteries on Cistercians’ websites. The main conclusion of the websites’ visual analysis is that discourse on monasteries consists of both religious and non-religious narratives, which unveils complicated presence of religion in public sphere. Because monks use non-religious narratives to autopresent (semantic dimension of secularization or semantic secularization), one may say that a monastery as a religious institution and monks as a community are not only influenced by secularizations as an external factor but also as an internal one.
