Summary/Abstract: The city of Freiburg im Breisgau, heavily destroyed, economically in the dead corner, of peaceful tem-perament, is the last place where one would expect elementary eruptions. It is necessary, however, to bring only the speech to the 16th of January, 1952, and an elementary outburst has already begun. After an eight-day stay in Freiburg, one wonders what is actually more interesting: the events of the day or the reaction to them. At first glance, these events have something incomprehensible, which, in turn, points to something elementary. In a university town known for its "temperate climate", almost 300 students are on the streets and are protesting against the film "Hanna Amon" by the "Jud Süß" director Veit Harlan - the first student action of this kind in West Germany.
