Summary/Abstract: Curzio Malaparte, born 1898, was an Italian writer, novelist, journalis and diplomat. Luigi Barzini, born only 10 years later in 1908, was an Italian journalist, writer and politician most famous for his 1964 book "The Italians". However he considered himsel as member of another generation, because Malaparte became soldier of WW I. while Barzini, like Moravia, Montanelli, Buzzati... went to school during the war period.
