Summary/Abstract: The article is about homeschooling in Poland. I will attempt to present quantitatively small phenomenon that might be crucial for understanding wider social trends and changes. In the article I am going to present what for a homeschoolers is a very popular definition. What is more I will enrich it with a historical and legal context. The article also contains the information about sociological research that was made on this phenomenon in Poland. The most important part, however is an attempt to interpret homeschooling in categories known from Anthony Giddens sociological theory: risk, reflexivity and experts systems.
