Summary/Abstract: The text invites the reader to reflect upon civil activity taken in unexpected places and forms, and going beyond its conventional notions. The first thesis put forward is that members of isolated homogeneous communities (young people in particular) rather than evading civil activity practise civil idleness, much in line with what society expects of them. From this stems our next thesis, which prompts to seek civil activity somewhere else.
