Summary/Abstract: The Higher Council of Museums of Romania was founded by the Law of Libraries and Public Museums (1932). The aims of this organization were the reorganization and modernization of museums, promoting protective measures and regulations for the cultural heritage. The Higher Council of Museums, in spite of the difficulties, has persisted in offering financial support to such institutions and raising the level of promotional education, bringing together certain personalities, with Nicolae Iorga in mind. The results of such an approach have been reduced because of objective reasons, but the activity of the Higher Council of Museums has indicated a model of specialized consultation, which has been rehabilitated and is also functioning now
