Summary/Abstract: Using unpublished and edited sources - especially from the Dobrudja press - we try to make a synthesis of the beginnings, modest as well as all departures, of tourism on the Black Sea coast of Romania after 1878. After the war of independence when the Dobruja returned to Romania. We present interesting and reminiscent details concerning the incipient organization of tourism: the development of beaches and the evolution of comfort for tourists who came to the heliomarine cure, "fashion", the formation of the hotel network, means of transport, the most important visitors of the Romanian coast of the Black Sea during the years. Similarly, the successes and failures of the years between the two world wars, with regard to better organization and development of tourism, attractions for Romanians and foreigners as well as conditions for stays , recreation and safety for possible hazards or accidents
