Summary/Abstract: The present study, which has as its foundation a bundle of archival documents little known until now, reveals an unknown episode of the First World War which proves once again the generosity and care of Queen Mary As regards the fate of his subjects, more precisely those of the category of the unfortunate and the oppressed by the fate of life, for whom war and enemy occupation has thrown them into the arms of despair: poor widows and With many children, war orphans, families of those still mobilized and on the front. The episode took place during the months of May-August 1918 and consisted of a donation of 200,000 lei, personal funds, made by Queen Mary of Romania, trying to come to the help of the social categories mentioned , Which were located in the occupied territories - the departments of the south of the country
