Summary/Abstract: What is more difficult to acknowledge and define when referring to Anton Pann is the main feature of his writing, the so-called ‘antonpannism’, an equation that involves the writer’s role and vision in the Romanian literature. The ‘antonpannism’ becomes a synonym for Balkan or having Balkan characteristics, as it connects the two main trends, namely the Orient and the Occident. The present study is intended to emphasize a few aspects of Anton Pann’s literary work, especially those which exploit the Balkan spirit.
