Summary/Abstract: Through this article we tried to give life to one of the oldest and most important cities of Wallachia, an important commercial port in the Danube, Oraşul de Floci, where the archaeological excavations revealed a rich and abundant life of the XIV th century until 'In the middle of the 18th century. We chose for this study one of the most important families that lived here until the middle of the eighteenth century, when the city was destroyed and burned by the Russian armies during the wars with the Ottoman Empire. This is the Arion family, a family that perpetuated itself until the middle of the 20th century, with important figures for the history of Romania. The Arion family has begun to be recognized in documents since 1630, by Badea cupeţ de Braila, friend of prince Mathieu Basarab, who buys the Iasul estate, on the way to Braila. The grandson of this Badea cupeţ, Arion, the son of Iane / Ene cupeţ de Braila represents the founder of the family. He moved from Braila, an Ottoman raira, to Oraşul from Floci, in Muntenia, and he continued to work as a merchant, accumulating good fortune and married Ilinca, the daughter of Mary and daughter of Hranite Blagodesco , One of the most important local boyars. By this marriage he became the nephew by marriage of Cazan clucer, married with the other daughter of Hranite Blagodesco, Mira. The two, uncle and nephew by marriage, got on well and they did a lot of business together
