The increase in the attractiveness of the water tourism of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship by using EU funds

Summary/Abstract: Development of water tourism market is dependent on the state of the infrastructure. Therefore, investments in expansion and modernization of yacht harbours and marinas are crucial. Investing in hydro-technical infrastructure in the coastal areas is highly capital intensive and go far beyond the financial capabilities of private investors and local authorities. Lot of infrastructure investment could not be completed without support from external sources. Therefore investors apply for financial support from EU funds. The purpose of article is a summary and evaluation of investments in developing water tourism in Western Pomerania co-financed by the European Union. The article provides information on the development of nautical tourism in the region of Western Pomerania and identifies projects in which investments were realized.
