Summary/Abstract: May the Monetary Policy Council, by decreasing the interest rates, have the impact on the employment rate? By setting the bases for monetary policy, the Government can control the unemployment rate. Since January 2003 to January 2009 the unemployment rate in Poland decreased by 10%. The aim of this article is to investigate if the decrease of the interest rates did affect the unemployment rate.
