Summary/Abstract: The article refers to the issue of human trafficking and reflects the problem in the context of contemporary times. The author describes the construction of the definition of this phenomenon over the years and analyses cause and effect relations. A lot of attention is being put to known forms of human trafficking, separating child trafficking as a particularly dangerous and difficult to control phenomenon. The study contains detectability rate statistics of this specific form of crime in Poland. It also presents most known institutions which are actively and directly engaged in fighting this phenomenon and which help its victims.
