Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the problems of researching the Boyko settlers in the Odessa region, who were deported from Poland in 1951. Attention is paid to researchers and the issues they raised in their works, as well as to matters regarding aspects of the settlers` lives such as the preservation of cultural identity or adaptation in general.
