Summary/Abstract: The market for passenger air service is undergoing constant and intense organizational, technical, technological and economic changes. This causes a change in market relations, which greatly influences the development of new, strong economic centers of the world. However, the growing dynamics of this process, caused by progressive liberalization and strengthening of the regional economic communities, results in a hitherto unknown rise of international competition level. The article presents the issues related to the ongoing process of globalization in the world economy, with particular emphasis on air passenger market. It also shows the transformation, which is taking place in the relations between the bidders in the Polish air services resulting from entry of large carriers in Asia. Overvaluation in the competitive hierarchy has a significant impact on the pricing policy and the evolution of quality of services. The aim of the considerations presented here is to identify the effects and dependencies occurring in the global market of air carriers and to evaluate the effects of the impact of globalization on the sector and on the market of passenger air transport.
