Summary/Abstract: The analysis has been based on the linguistic material taken from the Diaries of Maria Dąbrowska containing statements of the writer about her sensitivity to music and the fine arts,and examples testifying the influence of those arts on the way the writer shaped her literary expression. The analysis has revealed that the linguistic form of the Diaries illustrates the influence of Dąbrowska’s familiarization with some paintings on her technique of depiction; to a lesser degree it reveals her inspiration caused by music.
