Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to analyze and evaluate the market of socially responsible investments in Europe and in Poland according to the European classification of strategies for socially responsible investing. The article presents the essence, genesis and scope of socially responsible investing. The paper presents the results of empirical research on the European and Polish market of socially responsible investments. For the implementation of the aim of this article, both qualitative and quantitative methods were used: descriptive method, literature analysis method, logical reasoning method and methods of financial analysis. Conclusions of the study indicate the dominance of the European SRI market (52,38%) and the initial stage of development of the Polish market of socially responsible investments. In addition, attention was paid to the introduction of the RESPECT socially responsible index on the Stock Exchange in Warsaw. The advantage of this article is that it addresses the issue of socially responsible investments – a research problem that is rarely presented in Polish scientific literature
