SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC DIMENSIONS OF LABOUR AND TEACHERS’ PENSION SOCIAL INSURANCE IN BULGARIA

Summary/Abstract: The specifics and requirements of teaching profession together with the dimensions of economic activity and remuneration of labour are crucial for the formation of standards, quality of life and level of teachers’ pension protection. The formation of wage levels in education around or even below the national ones becomes traditional for modern Bulgarian society. At the same time, the mechanism of functioning of social security transforms security rights of teachers into pensions of a modest size. The purpose of this article is to propose a mechanism for linking and increase the size of teachers' pensions according to the significance and contribution of their work to the development and prosperity of the Bulgarian society.
