Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to investigate functions of and requirements for the lecturer and student, enabling the student to study engineering and computer-aided graphics (drawing) in the non-university higher school (college) and university. Tasks for the lecturer and student, modernization of studies, of students’ training for intellectual activity are discussed. Collaboration of the college and university with the purpose to better prepare specialists is discussed, programs of engineering, study computer-aided graphics of the module, amount of credits and their distribution in college and university are compared. Data on automated design systems, used in enterprises, are presented. Survey of the organization of studies in engineering and computer-aided graphics and effectiveness of such studies has been made and data of the survey are presented in diagrams.
