Summary/Abstract: This article is devoted to the problem of teaching business language to students of university language departments. Based on a detailed analysis of business language, its peculiarities and differences from other Languages for Specific Purposes (LSP), the article argues for a cognitive approach to teaching it, as the most effective and expedient one. As it is argued, the cognitive approach is particularly suited to students with a language concentration.
