Borrowings in the composition of Ukrainian ecological terminology

Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the research of the Ukrainian ecological terminology. The semantic and structural peculiarities of borrowings are analysed in this investigation. The many-sided consideration of the terminological material has enabled the identification of reasons for including adopted units, features of their adaptation and functioning. Fixing of derivative ecological terms from foreign lexemes, confirms that the important index of depth of lexical assimilation of the adopted term in a new environment is its word-formation activity. Determination of value of borrowings in the process of forming of Ukrainian ecological terminology gives a clear explanation of organization not only of ecological terms, determines the different types relationships between them in its limits but also terminology in general.
