Summary/Abstract: The article comprises a synthesis of the national and European regulations on the measures aiming the safeguarding of employees’ rights in the event of transfers of undertakings, businesses or parts of undertakings or businesses and, more important, a synthesis of the Court of Justice of the European Union case law in this matter organised, in an original way, according to some practical issues especially the scope of regulation, the notion of undertaking, the notion of transfer, the transfer consequences on the labour relations, the employees’ rights protection, giving to the practitioner a useful instrument.
