E-Banking in the Republic of Macedonia: cost and future challenges

Summary/Abstract: The banking industry is evolving from traditional toward complex with great focus on E-banking. The paper examine the drivers for application of the E-banking and level of its utilization in the banking sector of Republic of Macedonia and identifies the cost of e-banking vis-a-vis traditional banking costs. Underlined focus has been placed on the empirical research for the E-banking application in the Republic of Macedonia based on the questionnaire. Such approach offers a comprehensive picture of the diffusion of E-banking within the banking sector in the Republic of Macedonia aiming to understand its role with respect to the traditional banking activity. Results clearly demonstrate that E-banking in the Republic of Macedonia has increased acceptance, however the number of customers do not completes the satisfied level. Hence, the paper provides further recommendation for the banks, current and potential clients for improving the E-banking utilization. Recommendation mainly addresses increased client’s information as well as security and data protection. Enlarged satisfaction and security significantly upsurges client’s confidence with positive impact on E-banking implementation
