Summary/Abstract: One can look at an experiment from the point of view of art – as an artistic experiment, or from the point of view of science – as a research experiment. The nature of the architecture allows simultaneous view on these two approaches. I call here the Doha Tower in Qatar designed by Atelier Jean Nouvel as an example, watching especially the same entrance zone, which is placed underground, below a kind of a canopy. This solution is an attempt to address the hot and dry climate of Qatar. It resulted at the same time with a pure, almost unreal, sculptural form. This architectural experiment, that is fixed both in art and science, touches the true meaning of architecture through its internal consistency.
