Summary/Abstract: In the collection of the National History Museum of Romania has recently entered a number of WWI postcards. Their content impresses the reader through the simplicity of the thoughts and the transmitted feelings. The written lines show the concern for the loved ones, for the family and friends, the need to know they are all safe, healthy and alive. For example, a mother tells her son, who was at war, that she moved because she could not stand ”the visit of the Zeppelins” and advises him to take care of himself during the winter and to wear thick and warm clothes. What could have possibly been more precious, in those moments, than an advice from one’s parents, a good thought from a friend, or news from a son in the heat of the war, unwillingly separated from the loved ones?
