Summary/Abstract: The contraception and abortion are closely connected with a responsible parenthood in formalised marriages, as well as in other types of heterosexual relationships. In this study, based on the results of sociological research from the year 2011, I discuss the attitudes of high school students from Kalisz (456) and students from Poznan (426) towards contraception and abortion, locating students' attitude in their opinions and assessments. In other words, I answer the question whether and to what extent the high school and university students accept moral standards on natural and artificial methods of birth control, and the extent to which they contest these standards, opposing the ban or practical limitation in marriages and in informal relationships. Respondents in both environments often favor the use of contraception by married couples over natural methods, and also oppose the church ban on their use.Among the people who are questioning contraception and abortion quantitatively dominate those who are deeply religious who recognize the moral authority of the Roman Catholic Church over those who are indifferent or non-religious and question the authority of the Church. In contrast, non-believers and religious persons most strongly oppose the moral norms of the Church forbidding contraceptives and abortion in marriages.
