Summary/Abstract: The article describes the research conducted at the Department of History of Stateand Law of the Faculty of Law and Administration at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin in 2008–16. At that time the Head of the Department was Professor Wojciech Witkowski, DLL. The presentation also includes the academic degrees and key publications, and discusses teaching activities carried out by the faculty of the Departmentin several fields of studies. The most outstanding achievements in the organisational activity at the levels of faculty, university, and national institutions of the science and higher education sector.
