Summary/Abstract: The Institute of Labour and Family Research is a leader of developing partnership which is solving research project within the frame of Initiative Partnership EQUAL "Working conditions as determinants of gender inequality of work". The project is aimed at targeted monitoring of situation of women and men on the labour market, through specific research of working conditions from the point of view of health and safety at work. The intention is to amend so far insufficient database from the point of view of working conditions, to identify and verify possibilities of optimalization and to increase accommodation of working conditions for equal assertion of women and men in certain professions and branches. The project is cofinanced by the European Social Fund. This issue of bulletin edited by the Institute of Labour and Family Research focuses on the brief of the first project´s research stage named the Informational and Analytical Background. Its aim was gathering and analyzing of the relevant knowledge, information and statistics having connection with working conditions and area of occupational safety and health respecting the gender approach.
