Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the concept of intelligentsia at Dostoevsky аnd Fedotov. The intelligentsia has always played an important part in the evolution of Russian society. To understand the Russian society we must understand the intelligentsia. Focus on intelligentsia as a liminal product of Russian history. Dostoevsky аnd Fedotov demonstrate the contradictory nature of Russian intelligentsia.
