Summary/Abstract: In archival theory and practice some changes were made bu intro- duction of new information carriers. Also all society came to new degree of information, therefore new information views have to be accepted in new law on electronic management and electronic signature, when with law will be regulated the informatization of Slovenian society. The employees in the archives are conscious f the changes of new information te chnology, which brings unbelievable possibilitis to the business, where the boundaries of production are greater and make pos- sible to new customer. The law on electronic management was admitted because of legislation of "safety environment" for checking the data that are saved in electronic shaped information carriers. At comparind of that law to the law on archives is obviously dear that the electronic manage­ ment and the introduction of new technologies will be rapidly changed and will be accepted in socioal, cultural and ecnonomic lifte of Slovenians. lntroduction of the law on electronic managing came across with the troubles according to the law on archives, especially the forms of the documents to the submission of originals. The comparison of toth lawes is the task of archival professionals in the future. Some other electronic news are brougth fonward, which will be in next years put near and partially equlize according to content and to dic­ tion of the articles. New terminoloqu should be defined in the law on archives. Some other expressions are defined, like time stamp, the sender of electronic message, information system, preserving of data, checking of electronic signature and the confirmation. For contemporary archival theory and practice was selected only the article 2, because the definitions should link us to archives. The orig­ inal is not only in medium as it is known, bujt the electronic cnes are equal. The valuation of electronic media is the same as in dassical media.
