Summary/Abstract: According to the cognitive metaphor theory the personification of inner world is the ascription of personal features to soul, spirit, mind and wisdom. The word phrases with abstract nouns representing the concepts of inner world in Lithuanian and German were studied and the phenomena of personified abstract areas in the said languages were characterized. The research material was drawn from the publicistic parts of Lithuanian and German electronic corpora. The analysis showed that the personification of inner world has common features in both languages. The analysis also showed that Lithuanian and German speaking communities actualize and ascribe different personal features to the phenomena of inner world. This enabled us to describe the fixed view of human inner world in Lithuanian and German.
