Summary/Abstract: The author tackles the independence of the prosecutor from a double perspective: a formal one, generated by the normative ensemble meant to insure it institutionally, and the informal one, devolving from the overall features of the personality. The part played by culture in the functional design of the prosecutor magistrate independence is also dealt with.
