Summary/Abstract: Analysing territorial capital and territorial attractiveness at the same time is becoming important nowadays. On the one hand, the author aims to reflect on some empirical results of territorial capital analyses and highlight the relations between territorial capital and territorial attractiveness based on the international scientific literature. On the other hand while seeking to gain an insight as to how segments and dimensions of territorial capital may be examined using information available in statistics databases the author also provides an empirical analysis in the case of micro-regions of Hungary. The author collected data for 174 Hungarian micro-regions, covering the years 2006-2011. After establishing some dimensions of territorial capital (natural, economic, relational, built, human, cultural and social capital) the author points out the differences regarding the segments of territorial capital. By discriminant analysis the author emphasizes that relational capital, economic capital, human capital, built capital and cultural capital are linked with the attractiveness of Hungarian micro-regions. These forms of capital are appropriate for explaining the differences of attractiveness of micro-regions, but natural capital and social capital have weaker effect on the attractiveness of micro-regions. The author also concludes that there is a great difference regarding the level of territorial capital between micro-regions of permanent domestic immigrations, low permanent domestic migrations and high permanent domestic migrations.
