Summary/Abstract: One of the most unquiet periods in the history of Wieluń Land was the period of the late Middle Ages, including the 14th and 15th centuries. A large part of this period was filled with wars and smaller frontier conflicts, related in part to the great European policy. During that period Wieluń Land and its individual parts repeatedly passed from hand to hand. In the middle of the 15th cen- tury the population of that area began to suffer of the plague of knights-robbers, a phenomenon born on the background of the unstable political situation in the countries of the Czech Crown and in particular in Silesia. The article contains a detailed discussion of the causes and course of the military conflicts in Wieluń Land in 14th and -15th centuries.
