Social exclusion – whether social work can help fight it?

Summary/Abstract: This article applies to issues of social exclusion and is based on the results of research conducted among social workers of the Lublin province. The study attempted to learn the others: — as far as the objectives of the local government and supporting institutions for social assistance are implemented; — what is the effectiveness of existing support methods; — how social workers define the exclusion, and how classify the different social groups at risk of social exclusion, and what problems present themselves most; — what are suggestions for actions, and to eliminate barriers, — what the social worker know about the various assumptions and official documents of social assistance.
