Summary/Abstract: The paper aims at demonstrating the usefulness of selected computational tools in historical linguistics research. The tools include the AntConc concordancer and (to a lesser extent) the Poliqarp search engine, as well as programs designed to edit the 16th-century Gospels, i.e. the web-based browser of parallel verses and the Ewangelie computer program. A comparative study of the collected material, aimed at tracing the intensifying particles ({ci/ć} in particular, {że/ż} to a lesser extent) in various 16th-century Polish Gospel translations has shown that their number is diversified. One of the particles, namely {ci}, is now preserved solely in dialects, which is why the material from Maria Konopnicka’s skillfully stylized poem “Pan Balcer w Brazylii” has also been taken into account.
