Summary/Abstract: The first part of the article is devoted to a general description of the electronic morphological ictionary PoliMorf, created in the Institute of Computer Science, Polish Academy of Sciences, for the purposes of an automatic analysis of texts. The way of merging entries coming from different dictionaries was presented and the rules of creating an entry were discussed. The second part of the article shows problems which lexicographers faced during organizing and supplementing the geographical name resources in PoliMorf. Among them there are issues connected with ascribing a proper gender and inflectional pattern to a given name, as well as describing hyphened compound names, names having a few variants and foreign names which in Polish texts were written without diacritics not existing in Polish language.
