Dictionary of Medieval Latin in Europe: challenge or chimera?

Summary/Abstract: In the present paper I demonstrate major problems of the Medieval Latin dictionaries’ alignment. In the first section, I briefly describe the history of the lexicographic network of the International Academic Union. In the second part, I demonstrate in more detail the main institutional and metalexicographic problems that should be addressed to create an integrated interface of the Medieval Latin lexicon research. Finally, I propose that a new research tool should be developed, one that would account for Medieval Latin geographical variation.
