The non-existent dictionary of Polish dialectal plant names

Summary/Abstract: The article highlights the need to create a dictionary of Polish dialectal plant names. Examples of similar dictionaries in other languages are quoted. The author, however, points out serious problems concerning the collection and classification of dialectal material in the domain of plant names. It is for these reasons that the dictionary of Polish dialectal plant names is rather unlikely to come into existence.
