Summary/Abstract: Analyzing the reasons for which I.L. Caragiale, E.M. Cioran, Andrei Pleşu and H.R.Patapievici were accused of non-patriotism, namely the fact that they slandered the Romanians, rejected the blatant type of patriotism and ignored the patriotic mission assigned to scholars, the paper tries to prove that, in these writers’ case, this accusation is, actually, based on fallacies.
