The Public Expenditures in Kars in Democrat Party Period

Summary/Abstract: After the sufferings from forty years of Russian invasion and being subjected to atrocities committed by Armenians in National Struggle years, the economic life of Kars and its environment began to recover following the liberation. The Republican government has attached importance to economic moves in Kars as well as over the whole country. While serious steps were taken in the agricultural and livestock sectors, on the other hand significant moves began to be made in health and educational fields. The Democrat Party which, established in 1946 in the wake of the economic difficulties experienced in World War II years and developments, took place in post-war period between 1950 to 1960 when it took power alone for ten years,. During the DP period, serious steps were taken and expenditures were made across the country from health to education and from religion to agriculture. In period of DP between 1950-1960, significant improvements in those realms were experienced in Kars as well.
