Summary/Abstract: Formation of the nouns in “Meshari” (“Missal”) of Gjon Buzuku appears with derivation (prefixation, suffixation, prefixation and suffixation, derivation without affixes), composition and conversion. Suffixation is the most productive way of word formation in Albanian language of Buzuku. In Buzuku’s book we have found 26 suffixes, by which there are formed around 120 nouns. The most prolific of these suffixes are: - (ë) s, - i, and – tar; less productive are: - (ë) ni - (ë)zë, - imë, - më, - esë, - or/ - uor, - tor / - tuor; a number of them are formed only from one or two formations. A large number of these suffixes have become very productive in today's Albanian language. However, the number of suffixes that appear in Buzuku’s book is relatively limited, compared with the Albanian means of today’s word-forming. Albanian language over the centuries of its development, except expansion of meanings, functions, use and production of these suffixes, has been enriched with many other formations, consequently with many new formation of suffixed words.
