Summary/Abstract: The Romanian Interwar Period is a very animated one, with respect to the atmosphere of the national newspapers and also the intelectual life. The Romanian press is like a volcano, very active, full of ideas, arguments, wars, because all the men of culture are preocuppied with the country's future. The intellectuals and the newspapers are divided in two groups of ideas: the first group is in favour of the national spirit, the organic growth of the society; they claim that it is important to conserve the traditions, the customs and that we need to build the modern Romanian society according to the national features (religion, beliefs, mentality and traditions); the second group claims that it is important to align the Romanian society to the European way of thinking, values and mentality, because only this way Romania can grow, otherwise the country will be considered an outsider in Europe and Romanians will be seen like a group of peasants.
